KATHMANDU – The total number of COVID-19 cases in Nepal crossed 10,000 on Tuesday with 538 persons testing positive in the past 24 hours.
The total number of cases now has risen to 10,099, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry said 7,851 patients are in isolation ward while 2,224 have recovered. Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery. Among them are 68 males and 8 females.
In the last 24 hours, 4,995 samples have been tested through PCR, said Spokesperson Dr. Gautam.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 457,920 samples have been tested for coronavirus in Nepal so far. Of these, 186,366 samples were tested through the PCR and 271,584 through the RDT.
